Monsignor William Lynn, former head of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia's Office for Clergy, has been charged for allegedly failing to protect children from sexual abuse by priests, District Attorney Seth Williams announced today.

Two felony counts of endangering the welfare were lodged against Lynn follow a grand jury investigation, Williams said at a news conference.

Williams also announced the Revs. [ CCL: sic ] Charles Engelhardt, 64, and Edward Avery, 68, and Bernard Shero, 47, a former 6th grade teacher at St. Jerome's School in Northeast Philadelphia, had been charged with raping and sexually assaulting the same boy in the parish between 1998, when he was 10 years old, and 2000.

Another priest, the Rev [ CCL: sic ] James Brennan, 47, is charged with raping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy in 1996.

All five men were arrested today, official said.

Williams said Lynn, who was the Archdiocese's Secretary of the Clergy from 1992 to 2004, "supervised two of the abusers . . . knew they were dangerous and chose to expose them to new victims."

Since 2004 Lynn has served as pastor of St. Joseph's Church in Downingtown, a parish of nearly 4,000 families.

As head of the clergy office, Lynn oversaw all priest personnel issues, which included advising Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua and his successor, Cardinal Justin Rigali, on the assignment of priests; interviewing persons who reported sexual abuse by a priests; and overseeing the treatment of clergy known to have abused children.

In a message to church deacons, Rigali said he could not comment directly on the grand jury report because he had not yet received it.

But, he added: "I know the release of this report will be painful and my deep concern is for all of those who have been abused. I urge all the faithful of the Archdiocese to pray for, to extend every concern for and remain open to understanding the experience of the victims. It is in that spirit that we reflect upon the grand jury's actions and the recommendations they make."

Christopher G. Memminger, a conservative former Unionist from Charleston who later served as secretary of the treasury of the Confederacy, chaired the committee. Memminger's committee reported the next day, but it was the 24th before the convention adopted the "Declaration of the Immediate Causes which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union."

"A short document, the "Declaration of Immediate Causes" claimed that the northern states had "deliberately broken" the federal compact by repudiating their responsibility under the fourth article of the United States Constitution to return runaway slaves. South Carolina was thus "released from her obligation." This constitutional argument did not please everyone. In the debate in the convention, Maxcy Gregg, in particular, argued that the committee's proposed statement was insufficient for "a new Declaration of Independence." The document should, he said, also emphasize the tariff and federal expenditures for internal improvements. Although Gregg's unhappiness with the document's exclusive emphasis on slavery would be echoed later, the convention overrode his objections and voted by a margin of more than four to one to issue the declaration. In 1844, Georgia Baptists asked the Home Mission Society to appoint a slaveholder to be a missionary in Georgia. After much discussion, the appointment was declined. A few months later, the Alabama Baptist Convention asked the Foreign Mission Society if they would appoint a slaveholder as a missionary. When the society said no, Virginia Baptists called for Baptists of the South to meet at Augusta, Georgia, in early May, 1845, for the purpose of consulting "on the best means of promoting the Foreign Mission cause, and other interests of the Baptist denomination in the South."

Thus, on May 8, 1845, about 293 Baptist leaders of the South gathered at the First Baptist Church, Augusta, Georgia, representing over 365,000 Baptists. They concluded, with expressions of regret from their own leaders and from distinguished northern Baptist leaders,that more could be accomplished in Christian work by the organization in the South of a separate Baptist body for missionary work. The Methodists in the South had already separated over the issue of slavery, and southern Presbyterians would do so later.

The subject of the Reformation and the prominent individuals of that period, is more than can be fully addressed here, and well beyond my present ability. The criticisms received led to more study, using both on-line and printed sources. The Reformation was transformational in Western Civilization, and therefore in world history. Without the Reformation, we might well still be living more directly under the tyranny of Rome in both theological as well as in civil government matters. The ongoing Jesuit-led Counter-Reformation and New World Order of our day are purposed to take us back to Romish tyranny, this time on a global scale. The Vatican's Ecumenical Movement is one key stratagem of this anti-Christ agenda, which has drawn in many Christians, particularly through the concept of becoming "co-belligerents" in the American Culture Wars (e.g., the "Manhattan Declaration" ecumenical abomination). This is un-Biblical and disobedient to God's commandments (e.g., 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, KJB). A fundamental principle of warfare is: KNOW YOUR ENEMY. However, in the U.S., American evangelicals must first IDENTIFY their historic, centuries-long, enemy - the false "church" of ROME.

New York City said the ruling was a milestone, but advocates for other protesters arrested during the convention said the case did not address the civil liberties issues they have raised in separate lawsuits.

The protestors, Michael Marcavage and Steven C. Lefemine, were holding anti-abortion signs on the east sidewalk along Seventh Avenue between 32nd and 33rd Streets, facing Madison Square Garden, the site of the convention, and Pennsylvania Station, on Sept. 1, 2004, according to the decision, released on Friday.

According to TFP, a Catholic advocacy group, Boston College Law School – a Catholic institution – currently lists the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts on its web site under "pro bono organizations" at which its students may provide legal services. Founded in 1863 by the Society of Jesus [ CCL: Jesuits ], Boston College [ CCL: Jesuit University ] has 14,623 students.

Regis University [ CCL: Jesuit University ], Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame de Namur University, Loyola University New Orleans [ CCL: Jesuit University ], and Marquette Law School [ CCL: Jesuit University ], Rosemont College, the University of Detroit Mercy [ CCL: Jesuit University ] also listed Planned Parenthood on their web sites. Following reporting by Catholic World News and protests by TFP and others, the listing of the pro-abortion Planned Parenthood was removed from their respective websites.

So far, however, Boston College has not removed its listing.

"Why is Boston College encouraging its law students to get involved with the largest abortion provider in America?" questioned TFP Student Action director John Ritchie. "Activity that deliberately claims innocent life and promotes the Culture of Death should be off limits at Boston College and every Catholic university."

Boston College Law School classifies Planned Parenthood as a "public interest organization." The web page in question of the law school says, in part:

"Here you will find lists of organizations that sponsor law-related pro bono activities in Massachusetts. We encourage you to contact those organizations whose work aligns with your own personal mission of service, and to make the time available to contribute to their work in a meaningful way."

According to TFP, the president of Boston College Law school's pro-life group, Laura Balch, pointed out how the mention of Planned Parenthood is opposed to the mission of a Catholic institution. "At best, it's an embarrassment that we would have something so blatantly antagonistic to the Catholic faith on our pro-bono website,” she said to The Observer.

TFP is launching efforts to address concerns over the linkage of an ostensibly Catholic institution of higher learning with an organization promoting abortion and contraception at odds with Catholic teachings. Committed to defend moral values on college campuses, TFP Student Action has launched an e-protest to Fr. William P. Leahy, S.J. [ CCL: Jesuit ], president of Boston College located in Massachusetts, politely asking him to remove the Planned Parenthood web site entry.

On Saturday, October 2, as Tennessee abortionist Dr. [sic] Gary Boyle drove into a parking lot near the CWMC "abortion" center, he pointed a gun at three pro-life men, one Christian and two Roman Catholics. The Christian man states he was offering literature, and contrary to news reports, did not move toward the abortionist's vehicle. Glenn Beck has proclaimed that legalized homosexual marriage wouldn’t harm America; Ann Coulter has agreed to speak at the pseudo-Republican group GOProud’s “Homocon”; Grover Norquist, Tucker Carlson, and Margaret Hoover have formally endorsed homosexual activist organizations and their political goals; Indiana governor and possible Republican presidential candidate, Mitch Daniels, has called for a “truce” on the “social issues,” suggesting homosexual marriage is not an “existential” issue; and alleged homosexual Mark Kirk may win a Senate seat—Mark Kirk who supports virtually all homosexuality-affirming legislation, including so-called “hate crimes” legislation, the “Employment Non-Discrimination Act,” the “Safe Schools Improvement Act,” and the repeal of “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.”

True conservatives need to rethink their cowardly refusal to address the inherent immorality of homosexual practice and their deeply flawed strategy of calling for a moratorium on “social issues.”

It’s astonishing that any thinking person could view as non-existential the radical redefinition of marriage and the implications it has for First Amendment speech and religious liberties as well as for parental rights and public education.

Letter to the Editor: Woodard wrong, Catholic Sheheen No Conservative on “Abortion”

In the headline article in the July 28 issue of The Times Examiner, it states: “On social issues Sheheen is a conservative [sic]. Sheheen is Catholic, and if he takes his church’s view on abortion, stem cell research, gay [sic] marriage [sic] and euthanasia, “”he will be a very formidable candidate,” Woodard said.”

This description of pro-abort SC State Senator Vincent Sheheen (D) attributed to Dr. David Woodard, a professor of political science at Clemson University, is demonstrably false vis-à-vis the “abortion” issue.

Pro-abortion Senator Vincent Sheheen did not vote against selected taxpayer-funded abortions in the SC State Health Insurance Plan this past legislative session on April 28, 2010, and has never been a co-sponsor of the SC Personhood Bill, which if passed would recognize the God-given, unalienable right to life of every human being as a “person” beginning at fertilization, in SC law. Representative Sheheen did not co-sponsor the SC Personhood Bill when he was in the SC House 2001-2004, despite the SC Personhood Bill being active in the SC House ever year since 1998, and Senator Sheheen has not co-sponsored the SC Personhood Bill since 2004 when he has been in the SC Senate, despite the SC Personhood Bill being continuously active in the SC Senate 2005-2010 (and in 1998). Democrat Senator Sheheen is not a co-sponsor of the SC Personhood Bill (S.450) now (S.450 has 23 Senate co-sponsors).

Furthermore, Sheheen was actually a member of the Judiciary Subcommittee which held the SC Personhood bill in 2008 (S.313), and the bill went nowhere, it did not even have a subcommittee hearing.

On April 28, 2010, Christian pro-life Senator David Thomas (R) introduced Amendment No. 75 to the 2010-2011 SC State Budget banning all abortion-funding for rape and incest abortions in the SC State Health Insurance Plan, and also banning all abortion-funding for life of the mother abortions, except where the “termination of the pregnancy is incidental to the lifesaving intervention” and also stating “The physician shall act in accordance with the standard of care to preserve both [emphasis added] the life of the mother and the life of the pre-born child.” The Republican-majority SC Senate tabled this pro-life, anti-abortion-funding amendment, by a vote of 24-17, and Democrat pro-abort Senator Vincent Sheheen did not even vote, despite the fact that the SC Senate Journal for April 28 shows that he was present, voting, and speaking earlier in the session that day, and is not recorded as requesting a leave of absence.

Legislators who are AWOL on the chief moral, civil rights issue of the day in South Carolina and America, i.e., the murder of judicially innocent human beings in the wombs of their mothers (approx. 7,000 murdered each year in South Carolina; well over 300,000 since 1973), are NOT “Conservative on Social Issues” – and unfortunately, that includes pro-abortion Democrat gubernatorial candidate SC Senator Vincent Sheheen.

Right to Life. A movement opposed to the taking of innocent human life at any time from conception to natural death. The term pro-life is often used as well. Arising as a reaction to the movement for liberalized abortion, the first permanent group was founded in New York in 1966. From early on, however, Right to Life groups were concerned with the question of euthanasia as well and came to devote more of their energies to this subject during the 1980s.

The Supreme Court decision of January 22, 1973, overthrowing all existing abortion laws, led to an enormous growth in the movement. The National Right to Life Committee which had been founded in 1968 under the auspices of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, in 1973 became autonomous and non-sectarian. It is the largest and most influential national organization, with well over two thousand local affiliates by the 1980s. A large number of other groups appeared as well, many the product of splits within the movement over strategy and tactics ( e.g., American Life Lobby, Pro-Life Action League ) and others appealing to specific constituencies ( e.g., National Youth ProLife Coalition, Feminists for Life, Lutherans for Life ). The movement is diverse, its members representing a wide range of religious and political viewpoints, and is monolithic only in its rejection of killing the innocent.

While the Right to Life movement from its beginning has had members of a variety of religions, it was initially heavily Roman Catholic in composition. The later 1970s saw a huge influx of evangelical Protestants and this helped propel it to new prominence and political impact. The movement developed in Canada as well. The Alliance for Life was founded in 1968 and by the 1980s represented over two hundred local affiliates.

After their recess, after U.S. Senators on the Judiciary Committee return July 12 to the Capitol in Washington, D.C., there will be the question of actually voting on the Elena Kagan nomination in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

However, if the seven Republican Senators choose to truly uphold their oaths, and do all in their power to BLOCK the appointment of this dangerous nominee, this domestic enemy of the written United States Constitution, Elena Kagan , the Rules of the Senate Judiciary Committee [ Rule IV. A recent Gresham Barrett campaign ad claims he is a "Christian family man", yet apparently, applying the Sixth Commandment to all pre-birth children created in God's image is something about which Gresham Barrett disagrees with the Word of God. Gresham Barrett's pro-abortion position is not consistent with Biblical Christianity.

Gresham Barrett's position: Children conceived in cases of rape, incest, or life of the mother can not only be unjustly executed, but Gresham Barrett supports forcing Christian and other pro-life taxpayers to fund this unjust shedding of innocent blood (child-sacrifice) against our will. This is not liberty. It is tyranny.

To be a "Christian" means to believe in Christ, the Son of God (John 3:16, KJB), and to receive Him as Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10,13, KJB). Christ said, "Ye must be born again." John 3:7b,KJB. The Saviour which Gresham Barrett professes has said, "THOU SHALT DO NO MURDER" (Matthew 19:18, KJB). However, Gresham Barrett does not agree with the Son of God.

This past June 12 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph's Church, York, Pennsylvania, Paul Schenck was ordained a Roman Catholic priest. For Rome, this ordination which took place on the "Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary" was no ordinary one but rather another shining triumph of the papacy's "separated brethren" ecumenical strategy, enthusiastically aided and abetted by the "separated brethren" themselves. Paul Schenck was born to Jewish parents, raised Jewish, and attended a Hebrew school as a child. But at age sixteen, he professed to have been converted to Christ and was baptized shortly thereafter in a Protestant church. According to his bio, Schenck attended both a Bible college and an evangelical seminary. Eventually, he was ordained and in the early 1980s founded the New Covenant Tabernacle church in western New York.

In 1989, I met Schenck, an Operation Rescue leader, in a jail cell after being arrested with him and a number of other pro-lifers for blocking the door of an abortion clinic, more accurately known as a death mill. At the time, I had been in Christ for less than six years and had never heard one word of warning against spiritual fornication with Roman Catholics. As I note in my book More Than These, I was uncomfortable with the ecumenism of Operation Rescue but bought the argument that the mass murder of the unborn justified and necessitated joining with Romanists to save innocent human life and, we hoped, end that government-sanctioned, for-profit murder. During our time together behind bars, I spoke at great length with then Pastor Schenck. I was greatly impressed with him as a courageous, humble, and very articulate man. He was all of that as well as being well educated, very accomplished, and at one time, at the center of much publicity by the secular media. Along those lines, Schenck's bio states that he "has been interviewed on all major news networks, CBN and EWTN. He has appeared on Nightline with Ted Koppel, Larry King Live, the Leher News Hour, and ABC 20/20." No doubt this all makes Rome that much happier to not only have won such an influential "evangelical" but to also now ordain him.

According to the information I have documented in the book I mentioned, Paul Schenck arrived at the Vatican's door in 2004. Mr. Schenck's road to Rome included a stint as a minister in the Reformed Episcopalian church. Operation Rescue founder, and former professing evangelical, Randall Terry stayed at the same spiritual halfway house of Episcopalianism for a time before joining the Roman Catholic Church. Paul Schenck joins a growing crowd of Protestant pro-life activists who have converted to Romanism, including ministers such as Presbyterian pastor Steve Wood. In his book Surprised by Truth, Wood makes no secret of the decisive role which his involvement with Romanists in the pro-life movement played in his conversion to the Roman Catholic religion. Make no mistake about it--the ecumenical corruption of the pro-life/pro-family movement was the means by which the pope snagged these Protestants and many others, adding them to his worldwide stable of spiritual slaves.

In my book, I document just that with regard to Steve Wood, Paul Schenck, and the famous Norma McCorvey. At the time I wrote the book, Randall Terry had not gone over to Rome yet, but I stated, "I would not be the least bit surprised to see him eventually go all the way 'home to Rome,' based on his appreciation for the Vatican's unwavering stand against abortion. The Protestant, pro-life corrupter of so many Christians has himself been spiritually corrupted through and through because he has loved the unborn more than Christ. When thinking of Randall Terry, how can one not think of 1 Corinthians 10:12: 'Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall'?" In 2006, that statement was justified. An e-mail I sent out telling of Terry's conversion to Romanism included this: "The National Catholic Register's latest edition contains two articles trumpeting the news that Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry is the latest Protestant pro-life activist to join the Roman Catholic Church. In a Register interview, Terry was asked, 'When did you first take an interest in the Catholic Church?' His answer is: 'It was during my work in Operation Rescue that I first became interested in the Roman Catholic Church.'"

In a recent interview with the Roman Catholic LifeSiteNews just prior to his ordination as a Romish priest, Paul Schenck again confirmed the road by which he had traveled to Rome in the first place: "The pro-life movement drew me toward reunion with the Catholic Church." I have many similar quotes from pro-life Protestant activists who have converted to Romanism. Another chapter I would urge you to read is "No Coincidence" which documents the successful ecumenical strategy of the Vatican beginning with Vatican II (Oct. 11, 1962--Dec. 8, 1965). In an article such as this, I can only include a small fraction of that documentation. Here is that sampling.

"The restoration of unity among all Christians is one of the principal concerns of the Second Vatican Council. . . . In certain special circumstances, such as the prescribed prayers 'for unity,' and during ecumenical gatherings, it is allowable, indeed desirable that Catholics should join in prayer with their separated brethren. Such prayers in common are certainly an effective means of obtaining the grace of unity . . . In these days when cooperation in social matters is so widespread, all men without exception are called to work together . . . This cooperation, which has already begun in many countries, should be developed more and more . . . All believers in Christ can, through this cooperation, be led to acquire a better knowledge and appreciation of one another, and so pave the way to Christian unity. . . ."

In More Than These, I include much more documentation of Rome's all too successful ecumenical strategy. That documentation is from popes, bishops, and such individuals as George Weigel, Priests for Life's Frank Pavone, Lutheran-pastor-turned-Romanist-priest Richard John Neuhaus, and many other Roman Catholics and evangelical ecumenists. Yes, the ecumenical pro-life, pro-family movement has brought "a lot of converts to the Catholic church" as Joe Scheidler, the tenacious grandfather of Roman Catholic pro-life activism, stated. I know of a number of Protestant pastors, pro-life/pro-family leaders, and "rank and file" activists who have "gone home to Rome" via the pro-life movement. In fact, I knew some of them personally way back when.

Surely someone will say, "But these individuals were not true Christians anyway if they have now become Roman Catholics." That is true, but such an excuse does not even constitute a fig leaf, let alone can it justify spiritual fornication by those professing to hold to justification by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ Jesus alone. The only fact that matters is that spiritual fornication--aka ecumenical relations, including ministry of any kind, with false religionists--is condemned by the Word of God and has been the major factor in Protestants abandoning churches which, at the least, held to the fundamental truth of the gospel in favor of soul-damning, heart-hardening, Christ-blaspheming popery. Of course, it is also a factor in convincing poor, deceived Roman Catholics that they are Christians. Obviously, in addition, the ecumenical movement catechizes many evangelicals, as well as unbelievers in the watching world, that Romanism is Christianity. Finally, conversions such as Paul Schenck's not only add to Rome's membership and strength but also provide that greatest of all spiritual harlots effective apologists who speak in evangelical terms.

I said, "finally," but how can we close this subject without asking, Do the evangelical ecumenists have no concern whatsoever for the souls of the children of those won for Rome through ecumenical corruption? Paul Schenck, now one of Rome's very few married priests, is a husband and father of nine children, with the youngest nine years old! Those children will now be thoroughly indoctrinated with the blasphemous, enslaving superstitions of popery. But in truth, that indoctrination began with their father's involvement as an Operation Rescue leader when he was an evangelical pastor. The indoctrination only deepened when the man who should have been warning not only his children but also his flock against the whore of Babylon became an ecumenical Episcopalian minister. As evidence of what I am saying, consider this quote from now "Father" Paul Schenk concerning the bishop who ordained him a priest: "It was Bishop Galeone who inspired our first-born, Leah, to enter into full communion with the Church, which we then followed. We were neighbor pastors in Baltimore, then I was a member of the 'ecumenical clergy' at his ordination as Bishop of St. Augustine." In other words, the ecumenical corruption and example of her father brought the vulnerable Leah into the orbit and under the influence of Bishop Galeone. The rest is tragic history. You parents who profess to be true Christians, evangelical and Protestant, have a duty to educate and warn your children against the evils of popery. You parents who refuse to leave off your spiritual fornication--no matter how "mild"--are corrupting your children with your utter contempt for the blood and righteousness, the crown and covenant of Christ Jesus. Say what you want to your children with your lips; your deeds may well make your words of none effect and render your children vulnerable to the sorceries of popery.

But here we are, forty-five years since Vatican II openly set before the world Rome's strategy to corrupt and capture Protestants through ecumenical corruption. It is a strategy publicly, plainly set forth many times since by popes, bishops, and priests. It is a strategy which has been thoroughly vindicated by an ever increasing acceptance of Romanism as Christianity by evangelicals and a "lot of converts" brought into the bondage of the triple-crowned spiritual tyrant, the papal Antichrist.

Yet many evangelical leaders, even pastors, remain stubbornly intent on yoking with the death, darkness, and satanic bondage of Rome in the vain hope of bringing life, light, and liberty to America. And do such evangelicals claim, by faith, to have seen the crucified Christ Jesus? "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?" (Galatians 3:1).
